Geoff and Carrie are manipulated into a relationship by a bogus ploy of STONE's leader and become involved in a convoluted web of deception, not only from STONE but each other, until they decide to pool their talents and resources and fight back. They are thwarted at every turn, involving friends and relatives, all the way to the White House.
Geoff, who never wanted love because of the inherent danger, doesn't even realize he is in love until it's too late to turn back. He loves with a passion he never knew existed, let alone possessed. Carrie accepts and returns that love and passion, which she too didn't want at this critical time in her life. A love they both fear can only lead to disaster; emotions they share that cannot be denied; and a force so evil that it has to be destroyed; all put a value on life that Geoff promises Carrie will not be taken away.

I'm giving up and won't finish this book. To be honest, I haven't read any books by this author yet and when I read the blurb, I was more than intreagued. However, approx. 30 % into the book I've decided to give up.I absolutely liked the dialogues, banters and teasing between the two lead characters. I also appreciated the rare and thorough character development. However the plot is far too confusing and unfocused for my taste. Maybe the writing style just didn't work for me. At times I thought that this was far too rough and bumpy. I'm sure this is completely my fault - maybe it has to do with the fact that I'm not a native English speaker? Anyway, I really wanted to like this book as the blurb was so promising but I'm giving up. Sorry!

The book has a bit of everything - intrigue, twists, sexual tension and fantastic dialogue! From the start, I was drawn to Geoffrey. He appears as the alpha male, which is not unusual in romantic suspense novels, but was much more real with his personal struggles and his witty intellect. The dialogue between him and anyone with whom he shares the scene is amazing! I was laughing out loud within 3 pages of the book. Carrie is a heroine with whom you fall in love instantly. She is strong and a great match for Geoff, not a damsel in distress needing to be saved. The plot is definitely complex, but I was left wanting to know what was next and who was really friend or foe. I am excited for the next book which will hopefully be out soon as I want to know what happens!
I definitely would recommend this romantic thriller by the name of Heart of S.T.O.N.E. I liked it very much. Anxious to get the next book of the trilogy.

Since I haven't finished this book, I can't tell you what's in it but it sure has drawn me in. Starts very slow and hard to understand but if you keep reading you will surely enjoy this book. I plan to finish it as soon as I can get back to it as it's very interesting & mysterious.
